Movie Review – Decoupled

Movie Review by Rishi Kapoor
An Indian Bilingual (Hinglish) comedy web series written by Manu Joseph & Directed by Hardik Mehta. This brilliantly written 8-episode series is streaming on Netflix.
The premise of the series is simple and at the same time complicated, it’s about a misanthropic writer Aarya Iyer ( R Madhavan)and his startup-founder wife Shruti Sharma ( Surveen Chawla) juggle their divorce with the absurdities and annoyances of life in their affluent world. What stands out is the presentation and true to life situations which most of the couples can relate with and can laugh out loud watching the same.
R Madhavan has played his part so seamlessly well that you end up believing the character which is well balanced by his equal half Surveen Chawla . Their commanding presence has been a perfect manifestation of the amazingly written character’s. Chetan Bhagat is also good with his now & then appearance on screen, makes you laugh and so do other characters.
Witty, intelligent, humour with dark shades, this show is certainly well crafted but may not be liked by everyone. The ironic – truth about society, intellectual dialogues draws a veil over the paper – thin story, about a couple planning for divorce.
Overall if you are looking for comic relief and break from usual thrillers & dramas then don’t miss the series. I had a good time watching the show. A must watch !#seriesreviewbyrishik#series#review#decoupled#netflix#manujoseph#rishikofficial
