COVID-19 – A TERROR

written by Mr Rajiv Bhalla

A new terror in the world started from Wuhan – China, sometime in the November 2019 end. One case of so-called flu, accompanied with fever, erupted, leading to respiratory infection and critically carried over to the next person in a matter of days. By December, 2019 the situation became quite bad but China was in a denial mode and was not accepting that it could go beyond control. Probably the ‘Chinese New Year’ brought in more bad luck than expected and soon spread much worse than a wild fire. By not accepting the crisis, people continued to party, attend their normal routines and travel across the world making the entire world susceptible to this virus, by now being called Corona Virus, i.e. COVID-19.

COVID-19 is a lower respiratory tract infection which means that the most of the symptoms are felt in the chest and lungs, different from common colds and flu which effect the upper respiratory tract infection, where you get a runny nose and sinus congestion. The average time this virus takes time to get sick is after being exposed to it about 5 days. People in China who tested positive for COVID-19 have had severe symptoms, which includes trouble catching your breath, rapid breathing and lower oxygen in their blood. People who seem to be at highest risk for serious illness from COVID-19 have been adults over the age of 60 or people who have underlying medical conditions like High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Lund Disease, Heart Disease or Cancer.

Countries, like Italy, considered to be at number two in providing medical facility to their countrymen, did not pay heed by locking down their borders, shutting downs of industries, thereby contributing to the advancement of this Corona Virus across the world. So much so that by now it has had more deaths than what occurred in China. A country like India, having not so good medical facilities as countries like USA, UK, Germany and other developed nations, in fact, did much better because of the able leadership qualities shown by our H’ble Prime Minister, Mr Narender Modi. The cities started shutting down by locking their borders, the people asked to stay at home and thereby control the spread of the Virus to quite a large extent. The measures taken were exemplary and such that many world leaders acknowledged the leadership of PM, Mr Narender Modi.

There is, at present, no antidote to this virus, which now is being considered to be a man-made virus, to control the other nations by China, having devoured its own.

We pray to Almighty to give strength to the families of the deceased, courage and strength to those suffering from it to fight it and other to be protected from this Virus.
